The Girl who never Loved.

This is a poem about the Girl
who everyone thought couldn't Love;
It is a story about that Girl who was
never Loved. To be quite honest,
this is not a poem and it is not a story, either.
But above all, this is just as true
as it is a lie.
You see, there are times when
Grief overthrows Joy,
and when Despair conquers Hope.
There are certain fragments of time
when all the empty spaces
residing in your soul come rushing to the surface
and drown every drop and ounce
of Will.
This Girl never really understood why Love
was such a popular and desirable star
people tend to wish upon.
Why this shapeless yet solid entity
could hold such a fiery and intense power
and how it could, supposedly, give you wings
when all it really does do is tie you to the ground.
This Girl never really disclosed how
she, subconsciously, kept wishing upon that star
but did everything she could to prevent it from
coming true.
To this Girl,
Love was a Flower.
It was the scent that, levitating its way
to her nostrils, was able to
magically close her eyes and make her
see a whole new world
inside the world of illusions.
It was the sensation that made the hairs
of her skin stand, and cause her body
to quiver.
It was the feeling which filled her heart
and brought a flood of sweetness, completion
and inexplicable comfort.
It was her Flower.
To her, Flower was Love.
A Flower whose petals were destined
to wither and scatter to the winds of time,
yet she did not care; Time was human,
and Love, her Love, was
beyond the restrictions of perception,
distant from the narrow boundaries of
herself.
It was an extension of her being,
the air she breathed,
the smells of the wind,
the leaves dancing,
and the Moon shining
on a hillside
covered in
colourful
Flowers
of
Love.
